Context:

Naming explores a continuous transitional psycho-somatic state, where repetition—used as a structural improvisational method—serves as both a point of departure and a process of transformation. How does it evolve from its initial impulse? Do I accept and follow the internal and external stimuli of the moment? Naming is an ongoing, unfinished exploration of my own philosophical inquiry: Who am I? Where am I going? What lies between my desires and my reason? From the perspective of post-structuralism, objects, gestures, and movements continuously generate and dissolve meanings through this evolution. How does the audience form associations in this process? The work builds upon my research project Ongoing Repetition, which I initiated in March 2024.

For this performance, I also composed the sonic environment, incorporating field recordings from Hefei, China, and Berlin. These recordings shape an auditory landscape that interacts with the body's sensitivity to sound. The most recent presentation took place at Sasha Waltz & Guests’s Open Stage.
