Research Session 3 - “Ongoing Repetition“
Interventions & Constancy
This research session will explore the performative possibilities inside the concept of “Ongoing Repetition”: spacial relations, objects, language, and audience will intervene in the exploration of continuous repetitive processes. Beginning with body flow training, aided by Meredith Monk's “Falling” to facilitate kinesthetic listening forming individual repetitive rhythms. The language and sonic content from Alvin Lucier's classic composition “I am sitting in a room” and its compositional concepts will be utilized, generating new action sequences and language materials. Through the final performative task we will observe the sparks of rhythmic constancy colliding with external rhythmic intervention.
*Participants need to bring an object that you feel could be intervened with.
